Browse English-speaking landlords for holiday apartments on Germany's largest island Rügen, without hidden commission fees

As residents of the island of Rügen, we can personally visit every holiday apartment and holiday home on Rügen before adding the accommodation to our host directory. We do not allow landlords to register apartments that may already be worn out, unfinished or fraudulently non-existent.

On our website you contact the host directly and do not pay any hidden commissions—sometimes over 15% on other platforms! So, for the booking process and for all questions on site, it is helpful to have a common language. In fact, very few landlords on Rügen speak English or still Russian (GDR era), Most of the landlords of private holiday apartments on the island of Rügen are older and English was mostly only taught to children in schools after 1990. Too, there was no everyday relevance for Russian in the last 30 years.

Nevertheless: On the map on this website you can see the English-speaking landlords and the locations of their accommodations. There is also a search mask with which you can refine your search query, for example regarding travel period or pets.

Many holidaymakers like the fine sandy Baltic Sea beaches of the large Baltic Sea resorts of Binz, Sellin, Baabe, Göhren and Thiessow in the east of Rügen. One of the most sought-after holiday regions is the Mönchgut peninsula in the southeast with its rugged coast and the Zicker Mountains. Here you can spend your island holiday in many lovingly restored thatched roof holiday homes.

The southern part of the island is particularly recommended for hikers and beach vacationers, but also for families looking for a cheap holiday apartment and of course for anglers: from the Strelasund to the Mönchgut peninsula, the lagoon area is full of fish and angler accommodation.

The natural beaches in the southern Rügen area offer refreshing bathing opportunities in summer. Compared to the overcrowded Baltic Sea beaches, you can always find a spot on the Bodden beach. The surrounding area of the town of Putbus is also recommended. With its districts of Lauterbach, Wreechen and Stresow, you not only live directly on the Greifswalder Bodden. You will also find an inexpensive holiday apartment in Putbus.

But you will also find many great holiday apartments and holiday homes in the quiet north, where the chalk cliffs, Cape Arkona and the picturesque fishing village of Vitt await you. In particular, the north of Rügen offers cyclist-friendly holiday apartments and holiday homes.

Holidaymakers who prefer peace and nature will find many inexpensive holiday accommodations in the West Rügen and South Rügen areas. For example, this region (around the island of Ummanz) offers optimal conditions for crane watching in spring and autumn.
